Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: A very hip looking place, good for socializing and making new friends. Breakfast was quite good.

Negative: The room looked cool but had strange design flaws - plugs in strange places, no wall hooks in the bathroom or anywhere, no sink in the second toilet, etc. Overall it is a nice hotel though. However, staff expressed some racism towards my Chinese looking friend. During check in, the staff prioritized me and my Caucasian friend, even though the Chinese friend was standing closer. Same happened during the surfing lesson, when the coach kept making eye contact with us (Caucasians) and not her. And then the coach also mispronounced my friend’s name as “Sushi”, and while it rhymes, it was very inappropriate. The hotel facilities were nice but the staff should have some training.

Summary: Nice hotel but the staff acted racist
